Downhill skating speeds at an access road near SoHo Tuesday morning. I was working on hopping the V2 and then Whitcomb had me hop my V2-alternate (um... what do you Canadians call that one?) which I hadn't ever tried before. I lked it, I thought that throwing a small hop into the V2-alt helped me become much more dynamic. Try it.

I have tried V2-alt with a hop and it worked great on roller skis, but I could not transfer it to snow because roller skis are just so much different. Maybe you can just use it as a training technique for balance and getting more dinamics with your legs, but thats just my thought. It works great for roller ski sprints though, the people behind won't know what hit them.

Interesting, thanks for sharing your experience. Now I am antsy to try it out on snow.

I've had the opposite experience, I can do it on snow but it feels terrible on rollerskis to me. I've noticed Newell does it sometimes sprinting, if the camera is low you can see both skis off the ground right before he starts his pole plant.
