Wow. I watched the WCSN stream for both pursuits, and was impressed by the downhill speeds, but these two clips really show the insanity. How fast do you estimate they're going - 30mph?
Having inveterately watched every race I can get through WCSN or (cough cough) other means, there seem to be big differences, in general, between the descending skills of the front men and the rest (the leaders are almost always stepping, staying in tucks, etc. while the rest are often plowing and coming up out of their tucks), and between men (more aggressive) and women (less so) - although Jacobsen and Bjorgen look to be pretty much at home on the downhills. And (bigger caveat) you often can't really see many of the racers who aren't up front...
Anyhow, thanks for the clips. Between your posts and Kikkan's blogging, I felt like I was there (only we have more snow in Minnesota). Good luck in Stockholm and Lahti!
