Newell starting his qualifier.
Newell's quarterfinal.
Kikkan's quarterfinal coming up over the little hill.
It's actually a bridge with a walkway underneath so you can get from the wax cabins to the start without crossing over the course. When the snow was faster it was actually pretty fun since you could just double pole over it and then get a nice glide out down the other side but because of the very soupy and slow snow conditions by the weekend most of the girls ended up throwing in a few strides to get over the top.
Kikkan's quarterfinal.
Koos in the qualifier. Finishing straight.
My start
First stride out of the gate.
Kikkan getting after it in her qualifying race.
The Staadion on sprint day.
Some spectator stew in wood burning hot tub out on the course during the distance race.

Great photos; thanks for posting them. That shot of the "track" is especially interesting - watching the men's 15k on WCSN last night, I saw that everybody veered out of the track after starting but couldn't quite see how terrible that pit was.
The shot of you waiting to go is good too. You look focused and relaxed, but just how hard does Mr. Start Guy have to lean on people to keep them from jumping the gun? He practically had to wrestle with Freeman to keep him on the line!
It was a little bit sopping wet out there. That wasn't even one of the worst puddles. In fact I'm hoping there's still snow to ski on tomorrow.
This guy was definitely a little aggressive. He pushed back against me when I crouched a little bit at 5seconds to go. Not that he needs to, I've never even heard of someone false starting an individual start. especially since with the wands we get a 6sec window to start.
