USST no more
The nominations for the 2009-2010 US Ski Team have been announced finally. If you look you will find what I have already known for a month or so... there's no Laura Valaas on the list.
My automatic response is to laugh because if they think I'm done, they're wrong. I have a penchant for going after what I want and attaining it. I find it surprising to be doubted and passed over by the USST. There's no point in trying to be elegant about this development, however. The best response is to ski faster. Watch me.
Batterman Rd out in Rock Island-- wide shoulders, smooth pavement, and lined by orchards.

Valaasity,
I find this news shocking and disturbing --weren't almost every (if not every) one of your results from last season better than those who were picked for the B team?
I may not understand why the fastest skiers were not picked, but I am excited to see you show the world what's up next season!
By their own (USST) stated criteria, you clearly qualify as a B Teamer. Your FIS points improved, especially distance, where others tanked.
Your response is the best answer: train well, ski faster. Keep a positive focus, and best of luck.
USST should either get rid of the "B" Team concept or make it bigger.
