Quail!
I'm starting with 16. They say that you can expect a 25% mortality rate in the first couple of weeks. There's one little bird that definitely looks like he needs some help already. Don't worry about the dog, they didn't seem phased by her. It seems that movement startles them, but as long as you move slowly, they don't panic.

I did have to get a big receipt & keep it in case Fish & Game comes checking in on residential garages for wild animals :)
